No. 21 Kansas visits Missouri tonight in a Big 12 game between two of the most underrated teams in all of college basketball.
The Jayhawks have won five straight against Missouri and look to improve to 9-0 in Big 12 play.
Mizzou is quietly 20-4 overall this season and 7-2 in conference play.
Former Nolan Richardson disciple Mike Anderson has done a wonderful job rescuing the basketball program in Columbia.
Vanderbilt transfer DeMarre Carroll leads Missouri’s exciting attack. He is a versatile scorer averaging 17.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg and dropped in 31 points against Iowa State star F Craig Brackins on Saturday.
Carroll and running mate Leo Lyons make Missouri a real threat to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament. The Tigers average 84.2 ppg as a team and play an exciting up-tempo style.
The only thing hurting Missouri is a relatively soft non-conference schedule.
But with wins over solid USC and Cal teams and a road win at Georgia, I believe the Tigers are for real.
Tonight’s game should be high-scoring and exciting. I look for Missouri to knock off Sherron Collins and Kansas and finally get some national attention.
I wonder what Quinn Snyder is up to?
