The San Antonio Spurs are expected to sign free agent forward Drew Gooden Wednesday morning.
Gooden was released by Sacramento on Sunday and has committed to signing with the Spurs after he clears waivers tomorrow morning.
Cleveland was also interested in bringing back Gooden, but will instead settle for bringing back Joe Smith.
Smith was released by the Thunder and will provide depth while Ben Wallace is recovering from a broken leg.
Gooden will likely backup Matt Bonner, but should see significant action for the Spurs. His signing also means that we have likely seen the last of Fabricio Oberto. Too bad.
