Xavier downed Dayton for the 24th-straight time in Cincinnati to win a third-straight A-10 Championship.

Dante Jackson scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead a balanced Musketeer attack. Marcus Johnson scored 19 points for Dayton, including a spectacular breakaway dunk.

The teams jaw-jacked at each other prior to pregame warmups, but no technicals were called because game officials had yet to take the court.

Depending on how it fairs in the A-10 tournament, Xavier (24-5, 12-3) should secure a fairly high seed in the NCAA tournament. I came away impressed after watching the Musketeers knock off LSU in Baton Rouge earlier this season. Sean Miller’s team is terrific defensively, and is able to win ugly.

Dayton (24-6, 10-5) had a good season but is most likely headed to the NIT.
