Kelly has improved throughout the season for the Hawkeyes

Jake Kelly scored 19 points, including a crucial banked-in 3-pointer, to help Iowa outlast Penn State 75-67 in double overtime.

Kelly added 11 assists, four rebounds, and three blocks while holding Penn State star Talor Battle to 8-20 shooting.

Battle finished with 26 points, but struggled in the two overtime periods after scoring 11 points in the final two minutes of regulation.

Iowa (15-16, 5-13) completed another disappointing season, but Jake Kelly’s improvement gives hope for the future.  The skinny 6’6″ guard has been one of the best players in the Big Ten over the last month.

Penn State (21-10, 8-8) finds itself back on the tournament bubble after the bad road loss.  The Lions need to win at least two games in the Big Ten tournament to reach the Big Dance.
