Jim Calhoun hospitalized, will miss first round game

jimcalhounCBS reported UConn head coach Jim Calhoun has been taken to a Philadelphia hospital and will miss Thursday’s first round game against Chattanooga.

No word yet on what sent Calhoun to the hospital. The cancer survivor has battled health issues in recent years and missed a game earlier this season.

Assistant George Blaney will serve as head coach for the second time this season.

It will be interesting what impact if any Calhoun’s absence will have on UConn.

Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
