Everyone expected Blake Griffin to turn pro following his sophomore season, and he made it official Tuesday afternoon.
Griffin announced he will forgo his final two seasons of eligibility with Oklahoma during a press conference in Norman. He said he is “fairly certain” he will be the #1 pick in the NBA Draft.
The Naismith Award winner averaged 22.7 ppg and 14.4 rpg this season while leading Oklahoma to the Elite Eight.
Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel sat alongside Griffin at the press conference and said he fully supports his decision.
Let’s hope the #1 pick in the draft doesn’t go to the L.A. Clippers.
