UNC’s Ed Davis makes the right decision

Davis is returning for his sophomore season.

North Carolina got some good news over the weekend when F/C Ed Davis announced he plans to return for his sophomore season.

Davis was rated as a first round pick by multiple draft services, but in a statement released by UNC said he and his family feel he isn’t ready for the NBA.

The lanky 6’10” Davis averaged 6.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg as a freshman while coming off the bench for the Heels.

As a college basketball fan, I’m glad Davis decided to return to school. He is a great talent, but needs to gain weight and prove he can be a go-to scorer inside.

His game is very similar to that of Brandan Wright, who left school after his freshman year and has struggled in the NBA.

Another season in Chapel Hill will be good for the Heels and ultimately earn Davis millions.

Stay tuned.
