Cleveland demolished Atlanta 105-85 in Game 2 to tie an NBA record for with a consecutive double digit playoff win.
Expect the Cavs to break that NBA record Saturday in Atlanta – easily.
With Al Horford and Marvin Williams already sidelined with injuries, the Hawks might be without Joe Johnson for the remainder of the playoffs – so two more games.
Johnson suffered what is being called a “severe right ankle sprain” in the third quarter of Game 2.
He left the arena in a boot, but told reports he expects to play Saturday. We’ll see.
In a playoff year filled with compelling matchups and story lines, the Cavs-Hawks series has no life.
So I say the Hawks just quit.
Saturday’s starting lineup could see the Hawks without three starters, leaving the Hawks with the defensively challenged Mike Bibby, who is just getting worked by Delonte West and Mo Williams, and the inconsistent Josh Smith.
Get ready to watch Acie Law, Mario West, and Othello Hunter play big minutes.
