The NBA and the Houston Rockets got some bad news Saturday evening, when X-Rays revealed a hairline fracture in Yao Ming’s left foot, ending his season.
Yao suffered what was believed to have been ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Game 3 Friday night. He stayed on the court but limped severely before being removed late in the game.
He initially listed as questionable for Game 4 with a high ankle sprain.
Yao’s injury makes it unlikely the Rockets will win another game against the Lakers, effectively ending what was a very compelling series.
Having already suffered multiple foot injuries in his career, it’ll be interesting to see if Yao will ever be able to stay healthy. The Rockets said the fracture is expected to heal and won’t require surgery.
Maybe T-Mac will suit up Sunday – just kidding.
