Report: Rose, teammates had high school grades altered

Rose led Chicago's Simeon High to multiple city and state championships.

"D" Rose became "C" Rose while leading Chicago's Simeon High to multiple city and state championships.

Derrick Rose and three teammates had transcripts altered while playing for Simeon High School, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.

The report claims Rose and at least three others had grades altered during the recruiting process.  The original grades were later restored, but not until players had been admitted to college.

It is unclear what, if anything, Memphis knew about the alterations to Rose’s transcript.

The biggest problem facing Memphis continues to be Rose’s SAT, which was apparently taken by someone else.

The University of Memphis would be responsible for detecting inconsistencies between Rose’s transcripts and SAT scores.

As this story continues to develop, I’m confident we’ll have answers as to who knew what.

It seems unlikely Rose himself was the sole mastermind behind the academic scandal.

Stay tuned for more updates.
