Calipari called into Saturday's hearing with the NCAA infractions committee.

Calipari called into Saturday's hearing with the NCAA infractions committee.

The NCAA has heard Memphis’ side of the story and will announce its ruling in the next 6-8 weeks.

The primary topic of Saturday’s hearing was the fraudulent SAT submitted by Derrick Rose.  The alleged free transportation provided to Rose’s brother was also discussed.

Memphis president Dr. Shirley Raines said in a statement the school was forthcoming and accurately presented the findings of the recently-concluded internal investigation.

Former coach John Calipari was not required to attend the festivities, but complied with the NCAA’s request to call into the meeting.

Memphis AD R.C. Johnson has said repeatedly he believes the school deserves to retain its impressive record from the 2007-2008.

I expect the NCAA to vacate that season from the record books and possibly hit Memphis with additional penalties.

We’ll see how the latest shady SAT news involving former Tiger Robert Dozier impacts NCAA’s decision.

Tine to start another internal investigation.
