Villanova guards Corey Fisher and Scottie Reynolds will be benched for the start of Thursday’s First-Round matchup against Robert Morris, CBS reported.
Both players have been benched for what head coach Jay Wright called “a minor teaching point.”
This isn’t good news for the Wildcats, who face struggled late in the season and face a difficult road to the Final Four.
The specific nature of the teaching point should surface later today.
It will be interesting to see how long Wright keeps his stars on the pine before letting them enter the game.
A feisty Robert Morris squad could keep things close early, but Villanova should be able to go on a big run at some point to advance to the Second-Round.
