The Truth flashed his onions Friday evening on South Beach, hitting a 20-footer over Dorrell Wright at the buzzer to win it:
Pierce scored 34 points and dishing out eight assists as Boston took a commanding 3-0 series lead against the Heat with a 100-98 victory.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Wade was once again the only show in town for the Heat. Wade matched Pierce’s numbers with 34 and eight, but injured his leg after missing a 3 that would have given the Heat the lead with 14 seconds remaining.
Although the injury looked serious at the time, Wade apparently was simply suffering from cramps. He should be available for Game 4.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that it won’t matter; the Heat are clearly done.
Michael Beasley was better in Game 3, but Jermaine O’Neal was awful once again. He finished with two points on 1-of-7 shooting in 19 minutes; he is now a woeful 5-of-31 from the field in the series.
Boston has played very well against the Heat, who aside from the Bucks are probably the least talented team in the entire playoff field. Things won’t always be this easy for the C’s.
