Balanced Magic advance to Eastern Conference Finals

Most people thought Patrick Ewing was crazy for guaranteeing a Magic victory in Game 7.  It turned out he was right on the money.

Hedo Turkgolu scored 25 points on 9-12 shooting and dished out 12 assists to lead a well-rounded Orlando attack.  The Magic hit 13 3-pointers and got terrific play off the bench from Mickael Pietrus and Marcin Gortat.

Here are the highlights:

Boston fell behind early but pulled close late in the third quarter.  An 11-0 to open the fourth quarter broke open the game for the Magic.

I have never seen Turkgolu play as well as he did in Game 7.  He is very talented but tends to make stupid decisions in crunch time.

That was not the case tonight, as he hit a number of huge baskets.

Rashard Lewis dropped a quiet 19 for the Magic.  Dwight Howard played with good energy, finishing with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocks.

Ray Allen was finally able to shake J.J. Redick’s defense, finishing with 23 points.  But he took a number of forced shots, and Boston failed to get Paul Pierce involved.

The Truth scored 16 points on 4-13 shooting.
